Shifin Gearz Magazine's Club of the Month for October 2008 is Heavyweight from Fayetteville, North Carolina! Read the Straight From the Throttle Interview below!

Heavy Weights Motorcycle Club has been on the scene for 15 years and SGM had to ask them the secret to their success and basically the secret has been just sticking together plus they are all friends, military, and they all have the same love which is riding curves. If Heavyweights say they are going some where… they roll out no matter what!

The Heavyweight Family is comprised of 7 different chapters: Philly, Chi-town, ATL, South Click, Kentucky , VA, and the main Headquarters are in Fayetteville North Carolina with 48 members on the books and all are lifetime Heavyweights!

They don't try to charge an arm and leg for dues because they are not in the business to make money, but to teach good riding skills, make a rider a better rider, and most of all to show people that they ride with very high standards. President Means said “I can recall a few years back at one of our charity event for our kids in Fayetteville to collect back to school supplies for Caring Family Network someone asked “wow do you have to have everything sitting on chrome?” and I said well it is a standard of the Heavyweights to look good, but no we don't make it a requirement in riding with the HWs we just highly encourage it LOL!”

All of the founding members are still active. Means aka Raheem, Lord aka Paco, Derry aka Biker Dan, Ray aka PL. They all started back 1993 with the intent to just get guys to ride but now they have moved into the future and do a lot for kids, churches, and feeding the homeless in the Fayetteville area. The Heavyweights are passionate about giving back to their community.

If you haven’t heard by now, the Heavyweights have secured a date on the calendar of one of the most successful, well know stunt riders for a charity event in Fayetteville , NC on Saturday, October 18th from 3pm until Midnight. Yes that’s right, the main man of Team No Limit, the host of the hit Speedvision TV series Super Bikes, and Executive Editor of 2Wheel Tuner Magazine… yeah you guessed it, Jason Britton!

This event has been one of Heavyweight’s biggest fundraiser since 2005, The event started out raising money for a guy who was fighting Cancer, Cornell Williams who is a racer at the Fayetteville track and well know all over the Carolinas. The club heard about him fighting against Cancer from Mike Burden (HW) that had been friends with him for a long time so they came up with a way to raise money for him and his family when he lost his job, he has a wife and 2 kids, plus he had the same love that the Heavyweights had of riding motorcycles.

With this Fight against Cancer fundraiser at the Fayetteville Motor sport Track the Heavyweights raised over $6,000 for him and his family back 2006. Now that he his recovering from the Cancer and is doing much better the event continues but now the money all goes to the Cancer Foundation.

Getting Jason Britton to come to this upcoming event was hard work as he is a very busy man we all know, but motivation and dedication leads to getting the Hottest Stunt man ' Jason Britton ' to come hang out for a good cause and show The East Coast how we can get down!!! The whole weekend will be off the chain and you will miss this event of the year if you are not there! The Superbikes TV Crew may be there so don't miss it! SGM will definitely be there!
